Passion, Professionalism, and Networking for the future of our Park System

The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is excited to officially open applications for year two of their successful YPOP program. Applications are due by November 7, 2021 for any young professionals interested in an enriching journey complete with networking opportunities, community-focused engagement, and unique cultural and volunteer experiences within the Olmsted park system.

Throughout the nine-month program, YPOP participants will gain greater appreciation for Buffalo’s Olmsted parks and green spaces; learn about the Conservancy’s work and mission through direct access to staff, members of the Board of Trustees, and YPOP Alumni; network for professional development with local leaders and people of influence; and support the Conservancy’s mission for the parks through fundraising and friend-raising.

Event highlights include a Kickoff Party, Olmsted 101: History & Fun, Coffee with the Council members, a Career Development Panel, Olmsted Board Meet & Greets, Volunteer in your Parks, a Full System Park Bus Tour and much more!

“This program allowed me to experience the Olmsted Parks in an unconventional way,” said Alexis Webster, Community Relations Coordination, Gerard Place & YPOP Class of 2021. “I love learning about the importance of the Conservancy and all of the hard work that goes behind sustaining these historic spaces. I also enjoyed networking and connecting with other who share similar interests.”

“On behalf of Conservancy staff and our Board of Trustees, I am pleased to officially launch year two of YPOP and encourage anyone interested to apply for our 2022 class,” said Stephanie Crockatt, Conservancy Executive Director. “This innovative and inclusive program provides unique participatory experiences in connection to Buffalo’s Olmsted parks and community, while building an incredibly fun peer and professional network toward nonprofit service.”

Applications are open now through November 7, 2021. Learn more about the program and apply today at www.bfloparks.org/ypop. For any questions regarding the YPOP Program, please reach out to Sarah Larkin at Sarah@bfloparks.org or 716-838-1249 ext. 18.
