What is the Olmsted Community Alliance?

Purpose of the Olmsted Community Alliance (OCA)

  • Build representation from every Olmsted park district
  • Provide opportunities for community dialogue, feedback and input throughout the Olmsted parks
  • Enhance collaboration and awareness between BOPC, park neighbors and community partners
  • Increase public knowledge of BOPC’s role and mission for Buffalo’s historic landscapes

Overall Strategy and Commitment of the OCA and BOPC

  • Members of the OCA and BOPC to meet at least twice a year at district-wide community meetings
  • Members of the OCA to commit to sharing what they learn with their network and community
  • Members of the OCA to relay feedback to and from their community to BOPC
  • BOPC to communicate via email to OCA members with news, reports, updates, events, call-to-actions relating to their park district and systemwide

Checklist for OCA members

  • Attend the upcoming OCA meeting for your district(s). Meetings are scheduled to occur quarterly throughout the year
  • Join the OCA Facebook group
