Special Events

Special Events are all permitted through the City of Buffalo

Please email the Special Events Office for more information and to reserve your date: specialevents@city-buffalo.com

Factors that can qualify your event as a Special Event include the following:

  • Amplified music or any sound production,
  • Bounce houses or inflatables,
  • Drawing a large crowd (50+ people),
  • Petting zoo/pony rides,
  • Selling goods or services,
  • Solicitation of any kind,
  • The use of additional City departments (example: Sanitation)

 In addition to this list, the event must be reviewed by the City Parks Commissioner before a permit can be issued. This list is not inclusive and qualifying as a Special Event can vary on a case-by-case basis, as is determined by the Commissioner.

Parkside Lodge Great Room and the Parkside Croquet Courts

The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is responsible for the rentals of the Parkside Lodge Great Room and the Parkside Croquet Courts in Delaware Park. Japanese Garden

Japanese Garden in Delaware Park

Japanese Garden bookings are permitted through the Buffalo Olmsted Conservancy.  Please email Carly Stockton at carly@bfloparks.com with your booking request.

The Japanese Garden can accommodate up to 40 people. No beverages, food, chairs, or tables are permitted in the garden. The rental is free up to 2 hours, after 2 hours the fee is $75/hour. No amplified music or sound production, and electricity is not provided.
