Rumsey Shelter House

Rumsey Shelter in Delaware Park

Opening hours: Monday – Sunday, 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The Rumsey Shelter House was built in 1935 as part of a federal Works Progress Administration project as a comfort structure complete with working fire place, warming area and restrooms. The building was closed to the public in the 1990’s. Thanks to support from Bank of America and the Buffalo & Erie County Greenway Standing Committee, the building was fully restored and reopened for public use in 2019.
