All remaining shelters and green space, including those in MLK Jr. Park, Front Park, Riverside Park, South Park, Cazenovia Park, and Delaware Park (including the promenade by Hoyt Lake) are permitted through the City of Buffalo. For inquiries, please contact Arlene Mustafa at amustafa@ch.ci.buffalo.ny.us or 716-851-9670. Any public events including races, runs, or walks in the park must apply for a permit from the Special Events Department of the City of Buffalo (716-851-6508).

Rent: Parkside Lodge – The Great Room

About the Lodge

  • The Lodge at 84 Parkside Avenue (near the Buffalo Zoo) is home to our administrative offices, the Golf Pro-shop, and a potential café
  • The indoor rental space is called “The Great Room”, and will hold approx. 40-50 for a sit down meal, and 60-75 for a cocktail setting
  • Restroom facilities are available in the building

Pricing and Time Allocated

  • The Lodge/Great Room rents for $350.00 for 5 hours on the weekends and $250.00 for 5 hours on the weekdays (includes set-up/clean up)
  • $75.00 per hour above the five hour basic rental time
  • Restroom facilities are available in the building
  • Cafe space may be rented for an additional $100.00 on weekends and weekdays
  • Event dates can be held for one week on the calendar without any payment. After one week of holding period, a payment of any amount will need to be made to officially secure the date
  • Rental payment and security deposit must be fully paid 15 days prior to your event, no exceptions allowed

Permits that you may require

  • Currently, there is no assigned caterer for this venue – all caterers must have the appropriate permits/licenses/insurance, including a liquor permit, and must provide a copy to the Conservancy
  • If alcohol will be served at the Parkside Lodge and you do not have a caterer, a permit is needed to be purchased from the NYS Liquor Authority. Details for this can be found at https://www.sla.ny.gov/online-permit-applications
  • Some events may require city permits, depending on the size and type of event.  The event organizer is responsible for securing all necessary permits

Other things to note

  • Golf courses are open from late April – late October, there will be golfers in the immediate area
  • Parking is limited near the building. Ample additional parking is nearby in the lot at the entryway, on Ring Road, and in the neighborhood
  • There are no kitchen facilities in the building
  • The event organizer will need to secure tables, chairs and linens, etc.

About Parkside Lodge’s Fenced Picnic Area

  • It can hold 100-150 guests depending on type of event
  • There is no shelter, however, you can rent a tent for that space
  • Restroom facilities are available in the building

Pricing and Time Allocated

  • The Picnic Area rents for $300.00 for 5 hours on the weekends and $150.00 for 5 hours on the weekdays (includes set-up/clean up)
  • $75.00 per hour above the five hour basic rental time

About the ‘Caz’ Casino

  • Located in Cazenovia Park in South Buffalo
  • The indoor rental space will hold approx. 45-55 for a sit down meal, and 60-65 for a cocktail setting
  • Restroom facilities are available in the building

Pricing and Time Allocated

  • Outdoor terraces are included in the rental
  • The building rental fee is $185 for 4 hours, additional fees may apply after four hours

Permits that you may require

  • Currently, there is no assigned caterer for this venue – all caterers must have the appropriate permits/licenses/insurance, including a liquor permit, and must provide a copy to the Conservancy
  • If alcohol will be served at the Parkside Lodge and you do not have a caterer, a permit is needed to be purchased from the NYS Liquor Authority. Details for this can be found at https://www.sla.ny.gov/online-permit-applications
