SPECIAL NOTICE: 2nd SATURDAY WALKING TOUR RESCHEDULED
Due to the ‘Music is Art’ event in Delaware Park and some rainy weather last Saturday, our 2nd Saturday Walking Tour has been moved to this Saturday, September 19, 2015. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to meeting you at the top of stairs near Hoyt Lake. Space is limited, so order your ticket online or call 838.1249 ext. 20. Thank you!

From great white and great blue herons to the site of the long-gone Spire Head gazebo, there are many features to discover in Delaware Park. Fans of “Gala Water,” as the lake was originally called, are invited to view its sights and learn its history and lore during the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy’s 2nd Saturday Walking Tours Around Hoyt Lake. Two 90-minute tours will depart from the grand staircase at Lincoln Pkwy and Hoyt Lake.

10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Bring your own picnic lunch!
At 12:00 noon, between tours, Mr. Dold will relate additional history and stories about the city’s park, parkways and landscaped circles, the first integrated park system designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, America’s foremost landscape architect. Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch and gather behind the pergola in the Rose Garden at the top of Shakespeare Hill.
