One of Buffalo's most treasured cultural assets, this public urban forest is maintained, preserved and restored by the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy (BOPC), in a successful public-private partnership with the city of Buffalo.  We invite you to learn more about these historic open spaces, about their creator, Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of landscape architecture, and about the BOPC.  


Seasonal Employment

The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is seeking candidates for seasonal employment. The seasonal positions, are available from early April through early to mid October, will perform maintenance and care for our historic Olmsted park system. Previous experience is preferred, but not required. This position is physically demanding and involves working in all types of weather.


High School Diploma / GED, Driver’s License.


Landscaping. Familiar with lawn mowing equipment. Knowledge of golf course maintenance.

*All positions, full-time, part-time, and seasonal with the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy require City of Buffalo residency without exceptions.

Stephanie Crockatt Named Interim Executive Director

The board named Stephanie Crockatt, the conservancy's current senior director of institutional advancement, interim executive director. Stephanie joined the conservancy this past June, following seven years as director of extrenal affairs for the University of Georgia College of Environmental Design starting in 2007. Prior to that, she was president and executive director of the LPGA Tournament Owners Association from 1999 - 2007. For five years, she served as tournament co-director for the LPGA Oldsmobile Classic. She holds a bachelor of landscape architecture with a focus on golf course design, and a master of parks and recreation both from Michigan State University.
