LABATT USA to Help Cover Vandalism Costs for Delaware Park Generous community response gives the parks a lift Buffalo, New York – Imagine if someone took a spray can to one of Van Gogh’s masterpieces. That’s essentially what happened in Delaware Park earlier this week when vandals attempted to ruin one of the most cherished treasures in the region. The artist has been chosen by a panel of judges who reviewed presentations made by artists from across the country. | In the late 1800s, visionary citizens brought Olmsted to Buffalo. It was here that Olmsted, inspired by Joseph Ellicott's radial street layout, designed his first system of parks and parkways, and proclaimed Buffalo to be "the best designed city in the country, if not the world." During the 1901 Pan American Exposition, Buffalo was celebrated not only as the City of Light, but the City of Trees. |
