Peace Bridge Resolution
• A resolution was passed by the Board of Trustees on June 24, 2010, clarifying the following 4 point statement: o The BOPC continues to support efforts to restore the historic Front Park and its majestic view of the waterfront. o The BOPC has not supported and does not support the diversion of neighborhood improvement funds in order to restore Front Park or its view. o BOPC stands firm in its commitment to our mission to protect and preserve the Olmsted Vision that includes the neighborhoods surrounding our historic park system. We will advocate for the best possible project in this and all other cases. o The position of the BOPC concerning the Peace Bridge expansion and related mitigation measures is well documented in the public record and has not been withdrawn. The BOPC’s record on the issue can be found at http://www.peacebridgex.com

History
In the late 1800s, visionary citizens brought Olmsted to Buffalo. It was here that Olmsted, inspired by Joseph Ellicott's radial street layout, designed his first system of parks and parkways, and proclaimed Buffalo to be "the best designed city in the country, if not the world." During the 1901 Pan American Exposition, Buffalo was celebrated not only as the City of Light, but the City of Trees.
